The Great Lakes Coastal Assembly is pleased to announce the 2024 Great Lakes Coastal Symposium will take place October 7-9, 2024 at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Rochester, NY.
About the Event
The Coastal Symposium will feature plenary, invited, and submitted presentations, networking opportunities, workshops, and field trips for conservation practitioners, scientists, students, coastal wetland stakeholders, and community members. The theme this year is Great Lakes, Greater Resilience: Conserving Coasts and Sustaining Communities.
Over the course of three days, participants will explore efforts to restore resilient coastal systems across all the Great Lakes while highlighting restoration project successes along the heavily impacted coastline of Lake Ontario, and with a spotlight on Braddock Bay, NY. A call for presentations will go live at the end of April. Registration and accommodation details are forthcoming. A hotel room block will be held for this event at Hyatt Regency Rochester.
This event is organized by Audubon Great Lakes, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, SUNY-Brockport, and Great Lakes Coastal Assembly, and is funded by the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Coastal Program, and symposium sponsors.
